See if you can wrap your head around this truth – The same power that raised Jesus from the dead now dwells inside your body. We have all we need inside of us to live in freedom, joy and purpose through the power of God inside us. Not happening in your life right now? Guess what, the power is always available for you to tap into. You are sealed until the day of redemption, you only have to recognize His presence and trust Him to guide, direct and empower you. Starting now……

Passages taken from Romans to Revelation

Rom 8:11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

1Co 6:14 Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.

Rom 8:14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Rom 8:15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!”

Rom 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,

Rom 8:26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;

Rom 8:27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Rom 5:5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Rom 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Rom 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

1Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

2Co 6:16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.

2Co 6:17 “Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE,” says the Lord. “AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you.

2Co 6:18 “And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me,” Says the Lord Almighty.

2Co 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

Eph 1:13 In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation–having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Eph 1:14 who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of His glory.

Eph 4:30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

Eph 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

1Th 1:5 for our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake.

1Th 1:6 You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit,

1Th 1:7 so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.

1Th 4:3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality;

1Th 4:8 So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.

2Ti 1:14 Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the treasure which has been entrusted to you.

Tit 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

Tit 3:6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

Tit 3:7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the
hope of eternal life.

Heb 2:4 God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will.

Heb 3:7 Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, “TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,

Heb 3:8 DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME, AS IN THE DAY OF TRIAL IN THE WILDERNESS,

Heb 3:9 WHERE YOUR FATHERS TRIED Me BY TESTING Me, AND SAW MY WORKS FOR FORTY YEARS.

Heb 10:15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,

Heb 10:16 “THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM,” He then says,

Heb 10:17 “AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE.”

1Pe 1:10 As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries,

1Pe 1:11 seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.

1Pe 1:12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven–things into which angels long to look.

2Pe 1:20 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,

2Pe 1:21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.

Jud 1:17 But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Jud 1:18 that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.”

Jud 1:19 These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.

Jud 1:20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

Jud 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,

Rev 21:11 having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper.

God is Love. That’s the ultimate definition of love. If you know God, you have a clear understanding of love. If you don’t know God then your understanding of love is flawed or based on how you feel or distorted by your past. How do we know God so we can feel loved and give love as the Creator designed? We grow in our understanding of God through His Word. He has given us a long letter, extensive documentation, a thorough Help File, the Bible. If we spend intimate time with Him letting His Word permeate our soul He will happily paint a clear picture of who He is, who we are and what He wants us to do with our life. These passages below are from the New American Standard Bible and they contain the word love. If you spend time reading these verses, you will have taken an enormous step forward in understanding how prominent love is in God’s plan. If He IS LOVE then all that He does is based on it. He loves us and He wants us to love others. That’s the journey of life; allowing God to love us, loving God in return, and loving others as yourself.

Mat 22:37 And He said to him, ” ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’

Mar 12:30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’

Mar 12:31 “The second is this, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Luk 6:27 “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

Luk 6:29 “Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.

Luk 6:33 “If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

Luk 6:34 “If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount.

Luk 6:35 “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.

Luk 6:36 “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Luk 7:41 “A moneylender had two debtors: one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.

Luk 7:42 “When they were unable to repay, he graciously forgave them both. So which of them will love him more?”

Luk 7:43 Simon answered and said, “I suppose the one whom he forgave more.” And He said to him, “You have judged correctly.”

Luk 7:44 Turning toward the woman, He said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair.

Luk 7:45 “You gave Me no kiss; but she, since the time I came in, has not ceased to kiss My feet.

Luk 7:46 “You did not anoint My head with oil, but she anointed My feet with perfume.

Luk 7:47 “For this reason I say to you, her sins, which are many, have been forgiven, for she loved much; but he who is forgiven little, loves little.”

Luk 7:48 Then He said to her, “Your sins have been forgiven.”

Luk 11:42 “But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and yet disregard justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.

Luk 11:43 “Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the chief seats in the synagogues and the respectful greetings in the market places.

Luk 11:44 “Woe to you! For you are like concealed tombs, and the people who walk over them are unaware of it.

Luk 16:13 “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”

Luk 16:14 Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things and were scoffing at Him.

Joh 8:42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and have come from God, for I have not even come on My own initiative, but He sent Me.

Joh 11:3 So the sisters sent word to Him, saying, “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.”

Joh 11:5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

Joh 11:35 Jesus wept.

Joh 11:36 So the Jews were saying, “See how He loved him!”

Joh 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.

Joh 13:35 “By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Joh 14:15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

Joh 14:16 “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;

Joh 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.”

Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.

Joh 14:24 “He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.

Joh 14:31 but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.

Joh 15:9 “Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.

Joh 15:10 “If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

Joh 15:11 “These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

Joh 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

Joh 15:13 “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

Joh 15:14 “You are My friends if you do what I command you.

Joh 15:17 “This I command you, that you love one another.

Joh 17:26 and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

Joh 21:15 So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus *said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He *said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He *said to him, “Tend My lambs.”

Joh 21:16 He *said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He *said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He *said to him, “Shepherd My sheep.”

Joh 21:17 He *said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus *said to him, “Tend My sheep.

Rom 5:5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Rom 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

Rom 8:35 Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Rom 8:36 Just as it is written, “FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.”

Rom 8:37 But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

Rom 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

Rom 8:39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rom 12:9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good.

Rom 12:10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor;

Rom 12:11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

Rom 12:12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,

Rom 12:13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

Rom 13:8 Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

Rom 13:9 For this, “YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”

Rom 13:10 Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Rom 14:15 For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.

Rom 14:16 Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil;

Rom 14:17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Rom 15:30 Now I urge you, brethren, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me,

1Co 2:9 but just as it is written, “THINGS WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”

1Co 8:1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies.

1Co 8:3 but if anyone loves God, he is known by Him.

1Co 13:1 If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.

1Co 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

1Co 13:3 And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.

1Co 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,

1Co 13:5 does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,

1Co 13:6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

1Co 13:7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1Co 13:8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.

1Co 13:9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part;

1Co 13:10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.

1Co 13:11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.

1Co 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

1Co 13:13 But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1Co 16:14 Let all that you do be done in love.

1Co 16:24 My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

2Co 2:4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote to you with many tears; not so that you would be made sorrowful, but that you might know the love which I have especially for you.

2Co 5:14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died;

2Co 5:15 and He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

2Co 8:7 But just as you abound in everything, in faith and utterance and knowledge and in all earnestness and in the love we inspired in you, see that you abound in this gracious work also.

2Co 8:8 I am not speaking this as a command, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity of your love also.

2Co 8:24 Therefore openly before the churches, show them the proof of your love and of our reason for boasting about you.

2Co 11:11 Why? Because I do not love you? God knows I do!

2Co 12:15 I will most gladly spend and be expended for your souls. If I love you more, am I to be loved less?

2Co 13:11 Finally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love.

Gal 5:13 For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.

Gal 5:14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Gal 5:23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Eph 1:4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love

Eph 1:5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,

Eph 1:6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

Eph 1:15 For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints,

Eph 1:16 do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers;

Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Eph 2:6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

Eph 2:7 so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

Eph 3:16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,

Eph 3:17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

Eph 3:18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,

Eph 3:19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

Eph 4:1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called,

Eph 4:2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,

Eph 4:3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Eph 4:14 As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming;

Eph 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,

Eph 4:16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

Eph 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children;

Eph 5:2 and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.

Eph 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,

Eph 5:28 So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself;

Eph 5:29 for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church,

Eph 5:33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.

Eph 6:23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 6:24 Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with incorruptible love.

Phi 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment,

Phi 1:10 so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ;

Phi 2:1 Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,

Phi 2:2 make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.

Phi 2:3 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves;

Phi 2:4 do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others.

Col 1:4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints;

Col 1:8 and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.

Col 2:2 that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself,

Col 2:3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Col 3:14 Beyond all these things put on love, which is the perfect bond of unity.

Col 3:19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them.

1Th 1:3 constantly bearing in mind your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father,

1Th 1:4 knowing, brethren beloved by God, His choice of you;

1Th 3:6 But now that Timothy has come to us from you, and has brought us good news of your faith and love, and that you always think kindly of us, longing to see us just as we also long to see you,

1Th 3:12 and may the Lord cause you to increase and abound in love for one another, and for all people, just as we also do for you;

1Th 3:13 so that He may establish your hearts without blame in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.

1Th 4:9 Now as to the love of the brethren, you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves are taught by God to love one another;

1Th 5:12 But we request of you, brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction,

1Th 5:13 and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another.

2Th 1:3 We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater;

2Th 2:10 and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved.

2Th 2:16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,

2Th 2:17 comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word.

2Th 3:5 May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ.

1Ti 1:5 But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

1Ti 1:14 and the grace of our Lord was more than abundant, with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.

1Ti 2:15 But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.

1Ti 3:3 not addicted to wine or pugnacious, but gentle, peaceable, free from the love of money.

1Ti 4:12 Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe.

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

1Ti 6:11 But flee from these things, you man of God, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness.

2Ti 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

2Ti 1:13 Retain the standard of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

2Ti 2:22 Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

2Ti 3:10 Now you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, perseverance,

Tit 2:2 Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance.

Tit 2:4 so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

Tit 3:4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,

Tit 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

Tit 3:15 All who are with me greet you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

Phm 1:4 I thank my God always, making mention of you in my prayers,

Phm 1:5 because I hear of your love and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints;

Phm 1:7 For I have come to have much joy and comfort in your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, brother.

Phm 1:8 Therefore, though I have enough confidence in Christ to order you to do what is proper,

Phm 1:9 yet for love’s sake I rather appeal to you–since I am such a person as Paul, the aged, and now also a prisoner of Christ Jesus–

Heb 6:10 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.

Heb 10:24 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,

Heb 10:25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

Heb 13:1 Let love of the brethren continue.

Heb 13:2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers

Heb 13:3 Remember the prisoners, and those who are ill-treated

Heb 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all

Heb 13:5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money,

Heb 13:7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you

Heb 13:9 Do not be carried away by varied and strange teachings;

Heb 13:16 And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Heb 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to them

Heb 13:18 Pray for us,

Jam 1:12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Jam 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

Jam 2:8 If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF,” you are doing well.

Jam 2:9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors.

1Pe 1:8 and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

1Pe 1:22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart,

1Pe 1:23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

1Pe 2:17 Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king.

1Pe 3:10 For, “THE ONE WHO DESIRES LIFE, TO LOVE AND SEE GOOD DAYS, MUST KEEP HIS TONGUE FROM EVIL AND HIS LIPS FROM SPEAKING DECEIT.

1Pe 3:11 “HE MUST TURN AWAY FROM EVIL AND DO GOOD; HE MUST SEEK PEACE AND PURSUE IT.

1Pe 3:12 “FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS, AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER, BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL.”

1Pe 4:8 Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.

1Pe 5:14 Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ.

2Pe 1:5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,

2Pe 1:6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness,

2Pe 1:7 and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.

2Pe 1:8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1Jo 2:5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:

1Jo 2:6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

1Jo 2:15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1Jo 3:1 See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

1Jo 3:10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

1Jo 3:11 For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another;

1Jo 3:14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.

1Jo 3:16 We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

1Jo 3:17 But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?

1Jo 3:18 Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.

1Jo 3:23 This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.

1Jo 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

1Jo 4:8 The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

1Jo 4:9 By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.

1Jo 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

1Jo 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1Jo 4:12 No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.

1Jo 4:16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

1Jo 4:17 By this, love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world.

1Jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

1Jo 4:19 We love, because He first loved us.

1Jo 4:20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.

1Jo 4:21 And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.

1Jo 5:1 Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him.

1Jo 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments.

1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.

2Jo 1:1 The elder to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not only I, but also all who know the truth,

2Jo 1:2 for the sake of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:

2Jo 1:3 Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

2Jo 1:5 Now I ask you, lady, not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.

2Jo 1:6 And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.

3Jo 1:1 The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth.

3Jo 1:5 Beloved, you are acting faithfully in whatever you accomplish for the brethren, and especially when they are strangers;

3Jo 1:6 and they have testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God.

Jud 1:2 May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you.

Jud 1:20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

Jud 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life.

Rev 2:4 ‘But I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

Rev 2:19 ‘I know your deeds, and your love and faith and service and perseverance, and that your deeds of late are greater than at first.

Rev 3:19 ‘Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.

Rev 12:11 “And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.

Deu 4:2 “You shall not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor take away from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

Jos 23:14 “Now behold, today I am going the way of all the earth, and you know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one word of all the good words which the LORD your God spoke concerning you has failed; all have been fulfilled for you, not one of them has failed.

2Ch 6:10 “Now the LORD has fulfilled His word which He spoke; for I have risen in the place of my father David and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

Psa 18:30 As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the LORD is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

Pro 30:5 Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.

Pro 30:6 Do not add to His words Or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.

Isa 2:2 Now it will come about that In the last days The mountain of the house of the LORD Will be established as the chief of the mountains, And will be raised above the hills; And all the nations will stream to it.

Isa 2:3 And many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; That He may teach us concerning His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For the law will go forth from Zion And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Isa 40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.

Mic 4:2 And many nations shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of Jehovah, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths. For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Jehovah from Jerusalem;

Mat 4:4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.’”

Luk 5:1 Now it happened that while the crowd was pressing around Him and listening to the word of God, He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret;

Luk 8:11 “Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God.

Luk 8:12 “Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.

Luk 8:13 “Those on the rocky soil are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no firm root; they believe for a while, and in time of temptation fall away.

Luk 8:14 “The seed which fell among the thorns, these are the ones who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with worries and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

Luk 8:15 “But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.

Luk 8:21 But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”

Luk 11:27 While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed.”

Luk 11:28 But He said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.”

Act 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness.

Act 6:2 So the twelve summoned the congregation of the disciples and said, “It is not desirable for us to neglect the word of God in order to serve tables.

Act 6:7 The word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.

Act 11:1 Now the apostles and the brethren who were throughout Judea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.

Act 13:5 When they reached Salamis, they began to proclaim the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews; and they also had John as their helper.

Act 13:44 The next Sabbath nearly the whole city assembled to hear the word of the Lord.

Act 13:45 But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began contradicting the things spoken by Paul, and were blaspheming.

Act 13:46 Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly and said, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first; since you repudiate it and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles.

Act 13:47 “For so the Lord has commanded us, ‘I HAVE PLACED YOU AS A LIGHT FOR THE GENTILES, THAT YOU MAY BRING SALVATION TO THE END OF THE EARTH.’”

Act 13:48 When the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.

Act 13:49 And the word of the Lord was being spread through the whole region.

Act 17:11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

Act 17:12 Therefore many of them believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men.

Act 17:13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica found out that the word of God had been proclaimed by Paul in Berea also, they came there as well, agitating and stirring up the crowds.

Act 18:9 And the Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, “Do not be afraid any longer, but go on speaking and do not be silent;

Act 18:10 for I am with you, and no man will attack you in order to harm you, for I have many people in this city.”

Act 18:11 And he settled there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

2Co 4:1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,

2Co 4:2 but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Eph 6:17 And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Phi 1:12 Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the gospel,

Phi 1:13 so that my imprisonment in the cause of Christ has become well known throughout the whole praetorian guard and to everyone else,

Phi 1:14 and that most of the brethren, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear.

Col 1:25 Of this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God,

Col 1:26 that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints,

Col 1:27 to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

1Th 2:13 For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.

1Ti 4:4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude;

1Ti 4:5 for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.

2Ti 2:8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descendant of David, according to my gospel,

2Ti 2:9 for which I suffer hardship even to imprisonment as a criminal; but the word of God is not imprisoned.

2Ti 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.

Tit 2:3 Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good,

Tit 2:4 so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

Tit 2:5 to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

Heb 6:4 For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

Heb 6:5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come,

Heb 6:6 and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame.

Heb 11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.

Heb 13:7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.

1Pe 1:22 Since you have in obedience to the truth purified your souls for a sincere love of the brethren, fervently love one another from the heart,

1Pe 1:23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.

1Pe 1:24 For, “ALL FLESH IS LIKE GRASS, AND ALL ITS GLORY LIKE THE FLOWER OF GRASS. THE GRASS WITHERS, AND THE FLOWER FALLS OFF,

1Pe 1:25 BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD ENDURES FOREVER.” And this is the word which was preached to you.

2Pe 3:3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,

2Pe 3:4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.”

2Pe 3:5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water,

2Pe 3:6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.

2Pe 3:7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

1Jo 2:14 I have written to you, fathers, because you know Him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

Rev 19:12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.

Rev 19:13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

Rev 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

Forgiveness is a golden thread woven throughout the Bible. The God of the Scriptures is compassionate and forgiving. We are made in his image and likeness and also can forgive ourselves, our spouse, our family, our friends and even our enemies. God could not forgive us apart from a complete payment of the penalty of sin. What a gracious God to give us His Son, the only free man who could pay the debt we owed. God made a way through the sacrifice of Christ to forgive all the sins of everyone who has ever lived. Now by His grace and power, we can forgive others. Do you know Him?

Gen 50:17 ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph, “Please forgive, I beg you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong.”‘ And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

1Ki 8:33 “When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy, because they have sinned against You, if they turn to You again and confess Your name and pray and make supplication to You in this house,

1Ki 8:35 “When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain, because they have sinned against You, and they pray toward this place and confess Your name and turn from their sin when You afflict them,

1Ki 8:37 “If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight or mildew, locust or grasshopper, if their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities, whatever plague, whatever sickness there is,

1Ki 8:38 whatever prayer or supplication is made by any man or by all Your people Israel, each knowing the affliction of his own heart, and spreading his hands toward this house;

1Ki 8:39 then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive and act and render to each according to all his ways, whose heart You know, for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men,

1Ki 8:40 that they may fear You all the days that they live in the land which You have given to our fathers.

Psa 78:37 For their heart was not steadfast toward Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant.

Psa 78:38 But He, being compassionate, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; And often He restrained His anger And did not arouse all His wrath.

Psa 78:39 Thus He remembered that they were but flesh, A wind that passes and does not return.

Mat 9:2 And they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, “Take courage, son; your sins are forgiven.”

Mat 9:3 And some of the scribes said to themselves, “This fellow blasphemes.”

Mat 9:4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, “Why are you thinking evil in your hearts?

Mat 9:5 “Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, and walk’?

Mat 9:6 “But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”–then He *said to the paralytic, “Get up, pick up your bed and go home.”

Mat 9:7 And he got up and went home.

Mat 18:24 “When he had begun to settle them, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him.

Mat 18:25 “But since he did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made.

Mat 18:26 “So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’

Mat 18:27 “And the lord of that slave felt compassion and released him and forgave him the debt.

Mat 18:28 “But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe.’

Mat 18:29 “So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’

Mat 18:30 “But he was unwilling and went and threw him in prison until he should pay back what was owed.

Mat 18:31 “So when his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and came and reported to their lord all that had happened.

Mat 18:32 “Then summoning him, his lord *said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me.

Mat 18:33 ‘Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’

Mat 18:34 “And his lord, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he should repay all that was owed him.

Mat 18:35 “My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.”

Mar 2:5 And Jesus seeing their faith *said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

Mar 2:6 But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts,

Mar 2:7 “Why does this man speak that way? He is blaspheming; who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Mar 2:8 Immediately Jesus, aware in His spirit that they were reasoning that way within themselves, *said to them, “Why are you reasoning about these things in your hearts?

Mar 2:9 “Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven’; or to say, ‘Get up, and pick up your pallet and walk’?

Mar 2:10 “But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”–He *said to the paralytic,

Mar 2:11 “I say to you, get up, pick up your pallet and go home.”

Mar 11:25 “Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions.

Luk 5:17 One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.

Luk 5:18 And some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him.

Luk 5:19 But not finding any way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiles with his stretcher, into the middle of the crowd, in front of Jesus.

Luk 5:20 Seeing their faith, He said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven you.”

Luk 5:21 The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this man who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?”

Luk 5:22 But Jesus, aware of their reasonings, answered and said to them, “Why are you reasoning in your hearts?

Luk 5:23 “Which is easier, to say, ‘Your sins have been forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?

Luk 5:24 “But, so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,”–He said to the paralytic–“I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher and go home.”

Luk 5:25 Immediately he got up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God.

Luk 5:26 They were all struck with astonishment and began glorifying God; and they were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen remarkable things today.”

Luk 7:49 Those who were reclining at the table with Him began to say to themselves, “Who is this man who even forgives sins?”

Luk 7:50 And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

Luk 17:3 “Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.

Joh 20:19 So when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and *said to them, “Peace be with you.”

Joh 20:20 And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

Joh 20:21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

Joh 20:22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them and *said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Joh 20:23 “If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained.”

Act 8:20 But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!

Act 8:21 “You have no part or portion in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.

Act 8:22 “Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray the Lord that, if possible, the intention of your heart may be forgiven you.

Act 10:42 “And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead.

Act 10:43 “Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”

Rom 4:4 Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due.

Rom 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,

Rom 4:6 just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

Rom 4:7 “BLESSED ARE THOSE WHOSE LAWLESS DEEDS HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN, AND WHOSE SINS HAVE BEEN COVERED.

Rom 4:8 “BLESSED IS THE MAN WHOSE SIN THE LORD WILL NOT TAKE INTO ACCOUNT.”

2Co 2:6 Sufficient for such a one is this punishment which was inflicted by the majority,

2Co 2:7 so that on the contrary you should rather forgive and comfort him, otherwise such a one might be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow.

2Co 2:8 Wherefore I urge you to reaffirm your love for him.

2Co 2:9 For to this end also I wrote, so that I might put you to the test, whether you are obedient in all things.

2Co 2:10 But one whom you forgive anything, I forgive also; for indeed what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, I did it for your sakes in the presence of Christ,

2Co 2:11 so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.

Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.

Eph 4:32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.

Col 2:13 When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,

Col 2:14 having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.

Col 3:12 So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;

Col 3:13 bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.

Jam 5:14 Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

Jam 5:15 and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.

Jam 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.

1Jo 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

1Jo 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1Jo 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

1Jo 2:12 I am writing to you, little children, because your sins have been forgiven you for His name’s sake.

Exo 33:14 And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Deu 12:10 “When you cross the Jordan and live in the land which the LORD your God is giving you to inherit, and He gives you rest from all your enemies around you so that you live in security,

Jos 1:13 “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, saying, ‘The LORD your God gives you rest and will give you this land.’

Jos 21:44 And the LORD gave them rest on every side, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers, and no one of all their enemies stood before them; the LORD gave all their enemies into their hand.

Jer 6:16 Thus says the LORD, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.

Eze 34:15 “I will feed My flock and I will lead them to rest,” declares the Lord GOD.

Mat 11:28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

Mat 11:29 “Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.

Mar 6:31 And He *said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while.” (For there were many people coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.)

Heb 3:11 AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, ‘THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST.’”

Heb 3:18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient?

Heb 4:1 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it.

Heb 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, “AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST,” although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Heb 4:9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.

Heb 4:10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

Heb 4:11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience.

Rev 14:12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.

Rev 14:13 And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.”

Below are verses from the New Testament that contain the word impossible. Included are verses that give the context of each word. Things that are declared impossible in the Scriptures include:

· Mat 17 – Impossible for man to face or deliver himself from evil.  We can only be delivered from evil by faith in the power of God.  …And deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom, the power and glory FOREVER, Amen.

· Mat 19, Mark 10 and Luke 18 – Impossible for man to save himself by his good works or wealth. It is the grace and power of God that saves and regenerates man

· Luke 1 – Impossible for a virgin woman to become pregnant. This is not impossible for God. He sent His Son to the earth through a virgin woman named Mary to save the human race from it’s sin.

· Acts 2 – Impossible for man to raise himself from the dead. This is not impossible for God since Jesus Christ walked out of His tomb after being dead from crucifixion.

· Heb 6 (refer also to Psalm 110) Impossible for God to lie because he has sworn an oath. God twice made a declaration or oath, first in Genesis to Abraham that He would bless and multiply him and second in Psalm 110 that Messiah Christ would be high priest and take away the sins of the world. It is confirmed in Heb 6:20 that Jesus has fulfilled the oath that God promised.

· Heb 10 – Impossible for man’s sacrifice to take away sin. Only Messiah can completely remove sin and save mankind.

· Heb 11 – Impossible to please God apart from faith. God is only pleased with you if you have faith in His Son Jesus Christ for salvation. In your Christian life, God is only pleased with you if you walk each day by faith in Him. “As you received Christ Jesus so walk in Him.” (Col 2:6). Quit trying to work for God’s approval – it’s an impossible task.  Rest, trust wait, believe, hope, and the hardest – be still.

Act 2:21 ‘AND IT SHALL BE THAT EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.’

Act 2:22 “Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know–

Act 2:23 this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death.

Act 2:24 “But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power.

Act 2:25 “For David says of Him, ‘I SAW THE LORD ALWAYS IN MY PRESENCE; FOR HE IS AT MY RIGHT HAND, SO THAT I WILL NOT BE SHAKEN.

Act 2:26 ‘THEREFORE MY HEART WAS GLAD AND MY TONGUE EXULTED; MOREOVER MY FLESH ALSO WILL LIVE IN HOPE;

Act 2:27 BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT ABANDON MY SOUL TO HADES, NOR ALLOW YOUR HOLY ONE TO UNDERGO DECAY.

Act 2:28 ‘YOU HAVE MADE KNOWN TO ME THE WAYS OF LIFE; YOU WILL MAKE ME FULL OF GLADNESS WITH YOUR PRESENCE.’

Heb 6:13 For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,

Heb 6:14 saying, “I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU.”

Heb 6:15 And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise.

Heb 6:16 For men swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute.

Heb 6:17 In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath,

Heb 6:18 so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us.

Heb 6:19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,

Heb 6:20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Heb 10:1 For the Law, since it has only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very form of things, can never, by the same sacrifices which they offer continually year by year, make perfect those who draw near.

Heb 10:2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have had consciousness of sins?

Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins year by year.

Heb 10:4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

Heb 10:5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, “SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME;

Heb 10:6 IN WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKEN NO PLEASURE.

Heb 10:7 “THEN I SAID, ‘BEHOLD, I HAVE COME (IN THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN OF ME) TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.’”

Heb 10:8 After saying above, “SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND WHOLE BURNT OFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, NOR HAVE YOU TAKEN PLEASURE in them” (which are offered according to the Law),

Heb 10:9 then He said, “BEHOLD, I HAVE COME TO DO YOUR WILL.” He takes away the first in order to establish the second.

Heb 10:10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Heb 10:11 Every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins;

Heb 10:12 but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, SAT DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD,

Heb 10:13 waiting from that time onward UNTIL HIS ENEMIES BE MADE A FOOTSTOOL FOR HIS FEET.

Heb 10:14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

The Scriptures definitely address money and how we are to think about it, earn it, spend it and give it. The verses are taken from the NASB and the principles in italics are my personal observations. I prepared this personal study when our local church was going through a new building campaign. The principles can apply to a local church or to us as individuals.

The blessing of God is demonstrated in our ability to lend not borrow; The poor borrow, the wealthy lend and take care of the poor.

Luk 6:35 “But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.

Deu 15:6 “For the LORD your God will bless you as He has promised you, and you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow; and you will rule over many nations, but they will not rule over you.

Deu 28:12 “The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

Mat 5:42 “Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you.

Deu 15:7 “If there is a poor man with you, one of your brothers, in any of your towns in your land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand from your poor brother;

Deu 15:8 but you shall freely open your hand to him, and shall generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks.

Deu 15:9 “Beware that there is no base thought in your heart, saying, ‘The seventh year, the year of remission, is near,’ and your eye is hostile toward your poor brother, and you give him nothing; then he may cry to the LORD against you, and it will be a sin in you.

Deu 15:10 “You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings.

Deu 15:11 “For the poor will never cease to be in the land; therefore I command you, saying, ‘You shall freely open your hand to your brother, to your needy and poor in your land.’

Nehemiah Chapter 5 (not quoted here)

It appears that the poor are the ones in a position to borrow and the rich are to lend generously. The wealthy Jews got in trouble with Nehemiah for not lending according to the law. The richer Jews were extracting interest and servitude from the poor who were borrowing money to eat. Usery was against the Mosaic law and Nehemiah put a stop to it requiring the lenders to pay back the interest they had collected and release those in slavery. The Jews were not borrowing outside the family of Israel, they were borrowing from each other to eat. The labor and supplies for building the walls came from within the houses of Israel except the timber for the gates. The king had given that to Nehemiah based on his request. I’m pretty sure it was not a loan but a gift.

Be content with your wages.

Luk 3:14 Some soldiers were questioning him, saying, “And what about us, what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your wages.”

Here is a direct command from the Lord to be content with our wages and live within our means. I think this can apply to a church as well.

Borrowing puts you in a weakened position in the plan of God.

Pro 22:7 The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower becomes the lender’s slave.

Deu 28:43 “The alien who is among you shall rise above you higher and higher, but you will go down lower and lower.

Deu 28:44 “He shall lend to you, but you will not lend to him; he shall be the head, and you will be the tail.

Deu 28:45 “So all these curses shall come on you and pursue you and overtake you until you are destroyed, because you would not obey the LORD your God by keeping His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you.

God is our provider and is able to meet all of our needs; personal and for the church. The church should model this faith and thereby help the people to increase faith in their personal lives.

Luk 22:35 And He said to them, “When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They said, “No, nothing.”

1Ch 29:16 “O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have provided to build You a house for Your holy name, it is from Your hand, and all is Yours.

2Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;

2Co 9:9 as it is written, “HE SCATTERED ABROAD, HE GAVE TO THE POOR, HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ENDURES FOREVER.”

2Co 9:10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;

2Co 9:11 you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.

2Co 9:12 For the ministry of this service is not only fully supplying the needs of the saints, but is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God.

Phi 4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Phi 4:20 Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

God moves in the hearts of men to provide building supplies and labor.

Ezr 6:7 “Leave this work on the house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews rebuild this house of God on its site.

Ezr 6:8 “Moreover, I issue a decree concerning what you are to do for these elders of Judah in the rebuilding of this house of God: the full cost is to be paid to these people from the royal treasury out of the taxes of the provinces beyond the River, and that without delay.

Ezr 6:9 “Whatever is needed, both young bulls, rams, and lambs for a burnt offering to the God of heaven, and wheat, salt, wine and anointing oil, as the priests in Jerusalem request, it is to be given to them daily without fail,

Ezr 6:10 that they may offer acceptable sacrifices to the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king and his sons.

Ezr 7:27 Blessed be the LORD, the God of our fathers, who has put such a thing as this in the king’s heart, to adorn the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem,

1Ch 29:17 “Since I know, O my God, that You try the heart and delight in uprightness, I, in the integrity of my heart, have willingly offered all these things; so now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here, make their offerings willingly to You.

1Ch 29:18 “O LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, our fathers, preserve this forever in the intentions of the heart of Your people, and direct their heart to You;

Act 4:36 Now Joseph, a Levite of Cyprian birth, who was also called Barnabas by the apostles (which translated means Son of Encouragement),

Act 4:37 and who owned a tract of land, sold it and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

The people gave – God provided, God received the glor. Their focus was on God; they didn’t borrow from their neighbors. They had all of their supplies before building began and God received all the glory. God can move the hearts of men to give what is needed for building. Then God gets the glory for his provision and man gets the joy of being used of God and seeing God’s hand at work.

Count the Cost – the whole cost.

Luk 14:28 “For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it?

Luk 14:29 “Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him,

Luk 14:30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’

Be sure to calculate the total cost of the building over the life of the loan, including the interest. Also consider the cost to have a PointBank advertisement staked in the ground in front of construction. Will we be ridiculed because we didn’t have enough to complete it? Everyone that passes by will see that we are going to man for help to build our building.

Wanting money beyond our current supply brings pain and trouble.

1Ti 6:9 But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.

1Ti 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith;

Heb 13:5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,”

Heb 13:6 so that we confidently say, “THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?” (or the economy or rising prices of steel, or land availability, etc..)

Heb 13:7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.

I found it interesting that fight the good fight of faith is set near the context of money.

Interest paid is money wasted.

Luk 19:26 “I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away.

Investment is encouraged; debt only takes more away through interest. Consider investing what we already have – it will continue to generate interest in our favor until we have enough to complete the work.

We glorify God through our faith.

2Co 9:13 Because of the proof given by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedience to your confession of the gospel of Christ and for the liberality of your contribution to them and to all,

Phi 4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Phi 4:20 Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Borrowing diminishes the congregation’s opportunity to give.

2Co 8:1 Now, brethren, we wish to make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the churches of Macedonia,

2Co 8:2 that in a great ordeal of affliction their abundance of joy and their deep poverty overflowed in the wealth of their liberality.

2Co 8:3 For I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord,

2Co 8:4 begging us with much urging for the favor of participation in the support of the saints,

2Co 8:5 and this, not as we had expected, but they first gave themselves to the Lord and to us by the will of God.

If leadership decided to wait and take the faith route with building and finance, the responsibility falls on the congregation to give. They may joyously rise to the occasion knowing that they are looking to God for their supply rather than the bank. Then the building would truly be ours and we would own it in the end.
